as if.
alright my friends, here is a large post of new and good stuff to make up for the lack of posts.
Okkervil River have a new album coming out! it's entitled
Stage Names, and i've been anxious for it.. but now that i have it i'm kind of like "oh". while still very enjoyable (and seriously it is), could they ever make an album better than
Black Sheep Boy (or the
Appendix)? whatever, it's still pretty fucking awesome and Will Sheff's voice is just even more amazing.

Strawberry Jam,
Animal Collective! i don't believe the album as a whole has actually been leaked yet, but there is a 6 song thing that's out and about right now. the full album has 9 songs.
i was reading interviews online, and found this little quote from Panda Bear which was funny, "
The only thing we’re really upset about with the leak is that it’s only parts of it. I think there are six songs out there now. People aren’t even able to get the full experience of the album, which bums us all out quite a bit. So if you’re listening leakers [speaking directly into the tape recorder], put up those other three songs, man, pronto."
there is so much going on in these songs that it just amazes me how it can sound so together and have a still have a structure, with it being totally insane. and that is why i love them. it's not really anything like older albums such as
Sung Tongs, but that definitely doesn't mean it isn't worth a listen.
Animal Collective is always worth the listen, and if you don't like it at first, listen some more!

now this album is something i've been looking forward to for a long while. you all know
Caribou, right?
Manitoba? Daniel Snaith? whatever, you know. you know that
The Milk of Human Kindness was amazing, and you know that probably anything else he does will be just as good.
and hey, i really like this new album, entitled
Andorra. it's part of that spacey weird kind of 70's psychedelic pop music that's been getting popular as of late, so def check this one out.

New Buffalo... i just like her voice, a lot. i really liked the first album; it was pretty keyboardy and kind of like nice lullabies. this new one,
Somewhere, Anywhere, is piano based for the most part. it's not so pop cute, more grown up and elegant.
