  Colours.
why has there been no coverage of Calvin Harris on any blogs i read? but he has more than a million plays! how does that work? that nonsense aside, i highly recommend you track down his album I Created Disco. shit hot.
Calvin Harris - Colours

before Calvin took over my iTunes, the new Chromeo was pounding in my apartment pretty much non-stop. you can check my last.fm if you don't believe me. this jam is definitely my #1.
Chromeo - Bonafied Lovin'(Tough Guys)

i think i've made clear my love for Young Americans. this new track by them dropped. so solid.
Young Americans - Dial 1

and i finally tracked down the amazing Midnight Juggernauts remix of Dragonette from the Kitsune 4 compilation i mentioned a while back. you might think i'm crazy, but it's way better than the VanShe Tech remix. i never thought i'd say that.
Dragonette - I Get Around (Midnight Juggernauts Remix)

is it just me, or has this been the best year in music since the 80s?

  ga ga ga ga ga...
i've only given this album a couple listens through all the way, and really.. not much has stood out.
not only do i hate the name of the album, but i was pretty disappointed with it. Gimme Fiction was pretty amazing, so i expected some growth from that.. but all in all i find this one quite boring.
but hey, Spoon managed to get some good tracks on Ga Ga Ga Ga Ga.

like these two,

rhthm & soul - spoon
don't make me a target - spoon

maybe i just need to keep listening and i'll eventually like it more as a whole. but Gimme Fiction.. i instantly had favourites when listening to that record for the first time.

  DVNO
so the new justice leaked. ian hooked me up. i swear he has an RSS feed of torrent news that goes directly into his brain. nerdspeak! anyways, the album is insanely good. even though we've all heard half of it. the other half. wow. just listen to this and weep like i am.
Justice - DVNO

i was thinking today about how i have to stop downloading remixes unless they are someone good remxing someone else good, or someone amazing remixing/being remixed by someone i've at least heard of or comes recommended. no more remixes of daft punk by some idiot DJ in nebraska who just downloaded acid pro. they are just killing good music. that said, here's one amazing band remixing another amazing band amazingly.
!!! - Must Be the Moon (Hot Chip Remix)

the glamour pop up on bigstereo alot. and they deserve to. this would appear to be their latest, and probably my fave yet.
The Glamour - Get In To It

i don't remember where i found this, but it's a tiga track thatnever found it's way onto sexor. not his best, but hot still.
Tiga - Type of Guy

this track threw me off big time. i still don't know why i downloaded it. i guess it was becuase the glass were on remix duty. this is totally the exception to my new remix downloading rules. honestly, what kind of name is shitake monkey?
Shitake Monkey - I'm Gonna Take You Home (The Glass Remix)

i've had this track since before my last post, but i hadn't given it a chance past the shitty intro until the other day. and when i did i found a wicked pop gem. so i recommend you just skip the first 30 seconds and then fall in love with the awesome pop-piano and uplifting vocals.
The Tough Alliance - Something Special

i'm still undecided on how much i like this track. but i've been all about midnight juggernauts lately, so i'll just keep the theme going.
Damn Arms - The Cormorant (Midnight Juggernauts Remix)

  cute bedtime music.
i love this.
i love it.
i love it so much.
i just want to sleep forever with this album playing on repeat, always.

bedroom bossa band - lullatone
pajama party pop - lullatone

can you even fathom how many times i've had to press the backspace (delete) button on this entry? and it's soooo short!!! what the hell!

but so cute, so cute. you have to listen to this because you will just want to cuddle everything.
Lullatone is amazing.

  Anti-Anti.
nothing too stunning going on here. just some stuff to get by on.
this track is definitely my favourite of the bunch. i can't stop singing it to myself. it's just a great summer pop track. makes me want to be drunk in a park at noon eating sandwiches and arguing about what clouds look like. not to be confused with cloudslooklike.
Snowden - Anti-Anti (Treasure Fingers Remix)

and this original track by treasure fingers has some nice chromeo (make sure to myspace them for 'tenderoni') style shit going on.
Treasure Figners - Cross the Dancefloor

and hail social really aren't anything new, but this is a pretty decent remix of them. most pink skull remixes let me down, but this ones nice. i could see SebatiAn doing it better, but he does everything better. definitely hit their myspace though.
Hail Social - One U Love (Pink Skull Remix)

oh and kitsune maison dropped a mix of their 4th compilation. it's getting around fast. and with good reason. hunt it down if you so please. i highly recommend you do. there's a midnight juggernauts remix of dragonettes that's so hot. mmm!

  let's go - / ashtray rock.
see the Joel Plaskett Emergency, thursday May 17th.
i've never heard of him until the other day when i finally listened (under the reccommendation of my good friend Derek).
i likes. to me, it's total summer rock jam music for when you're pre-partying or adventuring in the brush or relaxing as the sun sets..?

so, May 17th, i guess i will be going to the show! mostly because Derek really wants to go.. and since he'll only be here for a week, i must do as he wants...

give'm a listen, then attend!

fashionable people - joel plaskett emergency
nothing more to say - joel plaskett emergency
(from the new album, Ashtray Rock)

and if you're into Apostle of Hustle, don't forget they're playing tomorrow night at Lucky...

  CarHouse.
mega post!
first, i'll get this behemoth out of the way. my new mix for driving. it was originally meant to be all my summer jams, but then i found some tracks that aren't as much sunshine as they are night-drive. so it's more about driving now. and for those of you who don't drive, just ride a bike or ride the bus or walk or segway or whatever. actually i might not be driving for a while, but that's a whole other story.
CarHouse

here's some of the tracks riding solo.

so perfectly 80s.
Kris Menace and Fred Falke - Fairlight

while getting my fix of knightlife on myspace i hyperlinked my way over to miami horror's space and found out he has some new demo track that you must hear. so i popped over to hype machine and couldn't find that track, but found this midnight juggernauts remix that is damn amazing too.
Miami Horror - Road to Recovery (Midnight Juggernauts Remix)

and just to drive home how rad lifelike is.
Lifelike - Adventure

and other stuff too!

longshanks himself sent me this one.
Bloc Party - Song For Clay (RAC Remix)

oh god, the vocal sample in this track makes me so hard.
Tepr - Minuit Jacuzzi (feat Grand Marnier)

and then if the vocals in this don't do it for you, the sax will.
Mr. Oizo - Patrick 122 (Extended Saxaphone Break Edit)

and if you haven't heard this, i don't know you. that's not true, but it's been out and about for a while and i've just now decided to tell you about it. no reason.
Hot Chip - My Piano

  ???
this is my stab at being the total opposite of everything Aaron posts.

Plastic Bag In The Tree.. super weird folk, here we come!
Flash Hawk Parlor Ensemble makes me want to sit on a big ol' porch in my rocking chair and have a beer as i watch the kids play. it can be an overdose of banjo for some, but it's got some weird keyboard/organ and electronic shit going on in there, too. but then some songs just get too overboard on the electronic messed up shit.. and sounds nothing at all like rest of the album.
this band is actually the project of Chris Funk, the guitarist of the Decemberists. i don't know if that really means anything.. but i told you anyway.
there are some covers on this album; some Fleetwood Mac, Radiohead, Massive Attack..

whatever, i'm digging it. the folk-ier stuff, at least.

can't see the moon? cut down the tree - flash hawk parlor ensemble
that's all for everyone (fleetwood mac) - flash hawk parlor ensemble
sleep at last - flash hawk parlor ensemble
