Chrystal City.
i've been in love with alan braxe for some time now. it's no secret. if it weren't for him i'd probably be one of those kids bragging about how they cried at the joanna newsom show. no offense to that, but i'd much rather brag about how i danced for 5 hours at a justice show and don't remember it. braxe set me on a path paved in the golden glory of french house. sure daft punk were my first french love, but it was braxe who really pushed the shit-hot disco to its limits and that's where i wanted to be. cracked out on saw waves and filter sweeps in the streets of paris. so i've compiled a pretty decent collection of braxe and his cohorts. yet one track always eluded me. a b-side from the rubicon single. today, however, in my boredom and perusing of oink, i found that b-side. and it did not let me down one bit.classic alan braxe/fred falke all the way. i'm going to have this on repeat for weeks. Alan Braxe and Fred Falke - Chrystal City
i don't know how to segue from that heavenly synthdisco into these next tracks. just eat them up.
oh, and in case you haven't heard, YACHT is now opening for LCD Soundsystem. i posted a track of his before, but here's another, so you can be fully convinced of how rad this news is. YACHT - Platinum (Featuring Bobby Birdman)

D.A.N.C.E. Video.
Discobelle put it up. Now I am. Directed by my #1 heartthrob So-Me.
fir.
alright, " Benoit Pioulard ", or should i say.. Thomas Meluch! your music is beautiful, and i feel awful not knowing about it sooner. and even worse because all i have is this ripped 3 song 7" that only has about 500 copies made of it, so i will probably never even own it. it is called Fir, and i am in love with it. because if there is one thing i love, it is low-fi folk influenced experimental music with the use of odd field recordings, plus the small edge of electronic essence via some drum machines and sort of pop-feel. and, well, his voice is low sounding and nice like Zach Condon of Beirut.
Lifelike.
palmsoutsounds dropped a Lifelike remix yesterday, and i just got around to listening to it. and then that reminded me of 'Discopolis' which, like 'Zdarlight', is just perfect dance music for sunshine and driving and leaving on repeat for hours. that track was my #1 jam last summer. and this remix is a perfect match for it. oh and Annie sings on it. Lifelike, i'm loving what you're doing.
i'm not going to lie. this track is a bit of let down. although i can't really see this pair working well together. i want to hear stevie wonder remix chromeo. that would be hot. Chromeo - Fancy Footwork (Guns'n'Bombs Remix)
apparently you can get a shitload of glass candy for free. but that's all old stuff. this is hot off the press. and yet so 70s. Glass Candy - Rolling Down the Hills
i loved copy's first album. something tells me this one is going to be better. and now that i've cleared away my ratio watch on oink i intend to find out. Copy - Fist
despite hearing some hot remixes from them, i never looked into the world of lo fi fnk. i was stupid. this track has a total prince chord progression. must hear. Lo Fi Fnk - End
and the new digitlism leaked. this song is a perfect cool down. if you're like me and have spent hours listening to 'Zdarlight' on repeat, this track will make alot more sense. but if you haven't, i'll put it up so you can. and then you will see what i mean. Digitalism - Moonlight Digitalism - Zdarlight

Moonboots.
I didn't really feel like sleeping last night. So I did some ableton mixing instead. There isn't anything really new in this mix. I'm pretty sure I've already posted most of it. But now you can just throw this on and party for an hour. I'm heading out of town so I don't really have time to put up the tracklist right now, but I will try to soon.
Le Castlevania - Trouble In Daylight (Young Americans Remix) Mr. Oizo - Transexual Yuksek - Little Dirty Trip Simian Mobile Disco - It's the Beat (The Teenagers Remix) Justice - B.E.A.T. Theives Like Us - Love Lets Down Robyn - Crash and Burn Girl (Jesper Dahlback Remix) Miami Horror - Don't Be On With Her Trippple Nippple - PPP (meatmix) The Teenagers - Starlett Johansson Digitalism - Pogo Bloc Party - I Still Remember (SebastiAn Remix) The Rakes - We Danced Together (SebastiAn Remix) Busy P - Rainbow Man Kavisnky - Wayfarer (Plus Move Remix) Daft Punk - Something About Us

the pretender.
last night was my first Lucky night. i finally got to meet some people i've e-stalked/have been e-stalked by. thanks to all, because i had such a rad time! it really cheered me up from the disappointments from earlier on in the night.
here is some weird sort of happy music i found. The Pretender is the newest album from this folky-pop group We All Have Hooks For Hands. there are about 9 member in this band, and their music reminds me of The Most Serene Republic, but happier.
the sun.Fridge. Fridge is Kieran Hebden of Four Tet. Four Tet is more electronic and sample based, while Fridge is more post-rocky experimental but sort of quiet and nice... but still weird like Four Tet. The Sun is their first new album in over 5 years. it's out sometime in june, and here are some tracks off of it..
Love Lets Down.
this has been the most party-free weekend for me in a long time. i did do a bit of drinking while at school editing videos, but that was far from being a night of dancing at lucky. it's killing me. but the break was much needed. it just gives me more time to soak in the leaked thieves like us album and prepare myself for next weeks ed banger listening party. baby elephant chainsaw!
first of all, from the new album Play Music For You (thank, Ian-tensity), this song is so amazing. its really simple, and just what i need right now. Thieves Like Us - Love Lets Down
this dropped on palmsoutsounds today and is pure sebastiAn bliss. it's got the raddest 70s electric piano intro that turns so badass. bastard can remix like nobody's business. Bloc party - I Still Remember (SebastiAn Remix)
and carrying on with sick remixes, i was worried about this because this alex gopher track is one of my all time favourite songs. but it's definitely rad. it just makes the song better to drop in between some phones and simian mobile disco. or something. Alex Gopher - Brain Leech (Bugged Mind Remix)
dumb animals - video
so, i got an email from miles linking me to the Handsome Furs video for Dumb Animals on stereogum. then i log onto some other things to be greeted by a load of messages about the video hitting the net & youtube. i saw it a couple weeks ago at the directer's house(Panos Cosmatos), just to see how creepy i look.. and, well, i look really creepy. i'm the girl who is not asian sitting at the table. i scare myself.
if you're interested at all, head over to the Cosmatos website because the video there is widescreen and quicktime, aka better quality than youtube.
and here's the mp3, as the album was leaked a couple days ago!
i don't know why this wasn't in with my last post. i've been sitting on it a while. so many lasers. Moulinex - Health Care
oh yeah, and this is a correction. i put up the wrong song in my last post when i was talking about 'a great song to walk in the sunshine to.' although the song i did put up is pretty good for that, this one is better. totally sunshine. Gui Boratto - Beautiful Life
